D. Scott Pipkins, Ph.D., P.E., S.E.

Principal Engineer

Dr. Scott Pipkins is currently the Principal Engineer at Pi-Tech, Inc. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Mercer University in the School of Engineering. Dr. Pipkins is a registered Professional Engineer in the States of Georgia and Florida. He earned his Ph.D. in Engineering (Structural Specialty) from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1992. Prior to his current position, Dr. Pipkins worked at Knowledge Systems Inc., Georgia Tech, and the FAA Technical Center in Atlantic City, NJ. He is experienced in the structural analysis and design of aerospace, mechanical and civil structural systems built with steel, aluminum, concrete, masonry, wood, and reinforced fiber composites. He has worked on a wide variety of projects involving aircraft, automobiles, pressure vessels, piping, and civil structures.

Matt Ellis, P.E., S.E.

Senior Design Engineer

Mr. Ellis graduated from Mercer University School of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in December 2002. He has worked at Pi-Tech, Inc. under Dr. Scott Pipkins since January 2000 and currently holds the position of Senior Design Engineer. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Georgia and a member of the Georgia Society of Professional Engineers. He has completed a variety of industrial, commercial, and residential projects, which includes evaluation and design of steel, reinforced masonry & concrete, and wood elements.

Dennis Adams, P.E., S.E.

Senior Design Engineer

Dennis Adams is a senior structural engineer with over 20 years of combined experience in the construction and engineering fields. He is a 2003 graduate of Mercer University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to joining Pi-Tech, Dennis spent 10 years as a production assistant and project engineer for a steel construction company, working primarily in heavy industrial projects for the mining and material handling industries. His background in the construction industry provides valuable experience in all aspects of industrial and commercial construction, from advanced knowledge of fabrication and field installation practices to project management, which influences his approach to structural analysis and design.

Dennis is a licensed professional engineer in Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kansas, Pennsylvania, and Indiana. He has specialized experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete design for industrial structures, including design of bulk material conveyors, heavy industrial process buildings, bulk and liquid storage silos, and a variety of equipment support systems. Dennis also has specialized experience in reinforced concrete design of environmental structures for wastewater treatment facilities, and in the evaluation of existing industrial, environmental and commercial structures. Recent projects include the Gemini Plant 5 Expansion at Imerys C.E. Minerals, Andersonville, GA; Upgrades to Alamo WWTP, Alamo, GA; Load-out Silos for Georgia Biomass, Waycross, GA; Wood Chip Processing Facility for Logistec, Brunswick, GA.

Rachel W. Autin, E.I.T.

Project Engineer

Rachel graduated from Mercer University School of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Engineering (Mechanical specialty) in May 2004. She has worked at Pi-Tech, Inc. under Dr. Scott Pipkins since August 2001 and is currently a Project Engineer. Her work has included various commercial, residential, and industrial projects requiring structural assessment, analysis, and design of wood, steel, masonry, and reinforced concrete structures. She also has experience with structural analysis on various aircraft platforms, solid modeling using Solidworks, and analysis using Femap and NASTRAN.

Neil Blizzard, E.I.T.

Project Engineer

Neil graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1999 with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree with a structural emphasis. He has over 20 years experience designing cold-formed steel framing for commercial buildings including office buildings, schools, hotels, retirement communities, and storefronts, as well as government projects such as post offices, courthouses, and air force base structures. Since joining Pi-Tech in 2009, Neil has worked on projects which include designing new structures as well as the rehabilitation of existing structures using steel, concrete, masonry and wood framing.

Paul Johnson, E.I.T.

Project Engineer

Paul graduated from Mercer University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree in May 2016. He began working at Pi-Tech in January 2014 as an intern, and is now a Project Engineer. During his time at Pi-Tech, he has worked on a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial projects involving analysis and design of wood, steel, masonry, and reinforced concrete structures.

Megan H. Bucy, E.I.T.

Project Engineer

Megan graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in May 2016. She began working at Pi-Tech, Inc. in the Brunswick office under Dennis Adams in July 2016 and is currently a Project Engineer.

Drew Forrester, E.I.T.

Project Engineer

Drew graduated from Mercer University School of Engineering with a Bachelor and Master of Science in Engineering (Biomedical specialty) in December 2016. He began work for Pi-Tech, Inc. in January 2017 in the Macon office under Scott Pipkins, and became involved in the design and analysis of steel, concrete, and wood structures in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. As of May 2018, Drew works in the Brunswick office under Dennis Adams as a Project Engineer.

Seth Slocumb, E.I.T.

Project Engineer

Seth is a Project Engineer with a wide array of Engineering and Construction experience. He grew up working in his family’s structural steel fabrication business starting in his early teenage years. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Specialty) in May of 2004. Upon graduation, Seth began his career working with a Civil/Structural firm in the Atlanta area. His design projects primarily consisted of commercial and school projects. Over the next decade, Seth worked for various engineering and architectural firms in the Atlanta area, including a company that specialized in steam power. This opportunity served to expand his design experience into industrial projects. In 2015, Seth moved back to Macon to his family’s steel fabrication business. After 4 years of project and administrative management experience, he felt a pull back to the engineering world and joined Pi-Tech in November of 2019.

J. Daniel Wallace Jr, E.I.T.

Project Engineer

Daniel graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in December 2021. He began working at Pi-Tech, Inc. in the Brunswick office as a Project Engineer in 2021 and has since moved to the Fernandina Beach office to work under Dennis Adams. During his time as a Project Engineer, Daniel has worked on numerous projects which include the design of new and rehabilitation of industrial, commercial, and residential structures which includes the analysis of materials such as steel, wood, concrete, and masonry.

Jacob McCallum, E.I.T.

Project Engineer

Jacob began work at Pi-Tech as an intern in 2019 while completing both his Bachelor and Master of Science in Engineering degree at Mercer University. After the completion of his education at Mercer University in May 2022, he began work at Pi-Tech as a Project Engineer. While employed at Pi-Tech, Jacob has worked on numerous projects involving the analysis and design of wood, steel, masonry, reinforced concrete, and light gauge structures found in many commercial and industrial applications.

Enrique Gonzalez, E.I.T.

Project Engineer

Enrique graduated in December 2021 from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to graduation, he completed various internships for manufacturing engineering, architecture, and aerospace engineering. He began working at Pi-Tech, Inc. in the Brunswick office under Dennis Adams as a Project Engineer in March 2023.

Nicholas Bradley, E.I.T.

Project Engineer

Nicholas earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a Mechanical specialty from Mercer University's School of Engineering in May 2024, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Since joining Pi-Tech in February 2023, he has served as a Project Engineer, contributing to diverse projects involving commercial, industrial, and residential structures constructed from wood, steel, concrete, and masonry materials.

Tim Stubbs

Office Manager

Tim started work at Pi-Tech in the Macon office in 2013. He has 15 years previous work experience with site plan drafting and design. Among the many roles as Office Manager, he is responsible for IT, drafting, and administration.
